Launch of the 3rd edition of the “Nukleo” and “With Energy for Climate” competition

We need nuclear energy to fight climate change! With this slogan, we are launching the third edition of two knowledge competitions – “Nukleo – National Nuclear Energy Knowledge Competition” and “With Energy for Climate – National Knowledge Competition on the Impact of Energy on the Environment”.

“Nukleo – National Nuclear Energy Knowledge Competition” is aimed at secondary school students with a special interest in science. The Competition’s formula is similar to an Olympiad and consists of three stages. After completing a knowledge test and qualifying for the second stage, students solve tasks that thematically relate to physics, energy and nuclear engineering. Only 20 people are invited to the final, during which the participants prepare and present one chosen topic on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and radioactivity.

From this year, a unique prize awaits the winners of the Competition – a university degree in physics at the University of Warsaw! In accordance with the resolution1 of the Senate of the University of Warsaw, all winners of the “Nukleo” Competition, starting from the first edition, are exempted from the recruitment procedure as of the academic year 2023/2024 to the “Physics” faculty at the University of Warsaw.

“Z Energią dla Klimatu – Ogólnopolski Konkurs Wiedzy o Wpływie Energetyki na Środowisko” (With Energy for Climate – National Knowledge Competition on the Impact of Energy on the Environment ) is dedicated to all pupils in the 7th and 8th grades of primary schools, who are particularly interested in the topic of climate protection and counteracting climate change, including through the use of clean energy sources, such as nuclear energy or renewable energy sources. Participants in the competition, after qualifying for the second stage, pursue one of the four
proposed by the Competition Committee, in one form of their choice: an article for the local press, a film or a scientific poster. Only 20 people are also invited to the final round. There are attractive prizes to be won!

The knowledge competitions are organised by the FORUM ATOMOWE Foundation in cooperation with the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw in partnership with the Department of Nuclear Energy of the Ministry of Climate and Environment. For more information, visit the websites:
