FORUM ATOMOWE Foundation at local summer events
This summer we had the opportunity to participate in many events organised in the region, which is crucial for the future of nuclear energy in Poland. At the invitation of Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, we took part in, among others, the Days of Krokowa and Gniewino Municipalities and the harvest festivals in the municipalities of Choczewo, Gniewino and Krokowa. We were also present at the Third Family Festival in Wejherowo.
Our stand with an exhibition on nuclear power was an excellent opportunity to meet with residents of the region where the first nuclear power plant in Poland is to be built, with the Westinghouse Electric Company’s AP1000 reactor, in the Choczewo municipality. Each of these meetings was another step in building awareness of nuclear technology and its importance for the sustainable development of the country.
Direct contact with residents allows doubts to be dispelled, questions to be answered and complex aspects of the project to be explained. It is also an opportunity to talk openly about the benefits that the construction of a nuclear power plant will bring, both locally and nationally. Such meetings not only build trust, but also contribute to a broader understanding of the technology, whose development in Poland is of great importance.
When implementing large infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a nuclear power plant, it is not enough just to inform. Open dialogue with local communities is key. This makes it possible to exchange information on an ongoing basis, eliminate misunderstandings and build long-term relationships based on trust. Every stage of the investment must be transparent and accountable, which is why our involvement at local festivals is more than just a presence – it is a real conversation about the energy future of the region and the country as a whole.
We would like to thank the Polish Nuclear Power Plants for the invitation and all those who visited our stand and engaged in conversation. Łukasz, Jacek, Przemek and Paweł took part in the Foundation’s activities – thank you for your professionalism and commitment!
