FORUM ATOMOWE Foundation at the site of the future nuclear power plant in Choczewo!

On 26 September 2024, we had the unique opportunity to visit the location of Poland’s first nuclear power plant, which will be built in the Choczewo municipality. The site, which will soon become a key site for the Polish energy sector, is being prepared for this moment – it is here that Westinghouse’s AP1000 reactor will be built, which will play an important role in decarbonising and ensuring stable energy sources in our country.

Our team – Anka, Jacek, Łukasz and Przemek – had the opportunity to see the site of the future construction and get to know the area where work will soon begin. We also met Zbigniew Wiegner, who manages the work at the site on behalf of the Polish Nuclear Power Plants. The whole event was organised for us by Maja Gadowska from PEJ, to whom we would like to express our thanks.

At the moment, the site is a prepared space, which will soon become a ‘construction site’ for state-of-the-art technologies – and we, as the Foundation, which has been promoting the development of nuclear energy in Poland for 16 years, will closely monitor the progress. This is a unique moment for us – to see our vision become a reality, step by step.

Thank you to everyone who made this visit possible, and we look forward to further progress!
